A user testing Codex Voice mode says the experience feels magical for hands-free work: they can walk around the house, make coffee, and talk to the agent while it orchestrates tasks.
Their main takeaway is practical: use Voice as the orchestrator, then hand the actual work off to stronger tools such as GPT-5.6 Sol or Claude through a local CLI. They also note that the model powering the voice experience itself feels weak.
