The author says AI has made answers faster to get, but also reduced the amount of random ideas they encounter.
To counter that, they started asking it to surprise them once a week, for example by teaching them 10 concepts from completely different fields that could make them a better engineer and thinker.
The post argues that LLMs should be used as more than chatbots and asks whether others are using AI in similarly expansive ways.
