Celeris Labs has launched Celeris-1, a general-purpose language model that claims near-GPT-5-level intelligence with much lower latency.
- Reported p50 latency: 157 ms.
- Claimed to be about 15× faster than GPT-5-mini and 17× faster than GPT-5.
- On MMLU-Pro, it scores 76%, versus 78% for GPT-5-mini and 81% for GPT-5.
The model is available now, so this is both a capability update and a speed-focused positioning play.
