Local Coding Test of Gemma 4: Good for Backend, Fails at UI/UX
curiousily_ · reddit · 2026-07-24
A developer tested the updated Gemma 4 (26B A4.0B, Q6) locally using OpenCode on an M5 Pro with 48GB RAM.
Results show an inference speed of about 60 tokens/s via llama.cpp. While the model performs well for backend development tasks, its ability to handle UI/UX code is unacceptable.
