Draft AI rules would force advance notice for deployments and high-risk evals

Stephen Casper says a draft AI rule would require the Commerce Department to receive advance notice of internal or external deployments, as well as high-risk evaluations, for new or substantially modified frontier models.
He argues that this requirement may be necessary for the bill’s emergency-order provisions to have real effect.
