Production AI agents need team safety, not just solo task success

A long thread argues that production AI agents must learn to work safely with other agents, not just finish tasks on their own.
Using a Google DeepMind / Zurich Robotics drone-racing result as the motivating example, it proposes a 7-step roadmap:
- define one clear goal per team
- expose shared state and tool use
- test against diverse agents
- stress shared files/data and versioning
- simulate hidden side effects and recovery
- reward safety, not just speed
- test teams larger and messier than training
The core claim is that the real bottleneck is not individual agent capability, but coordination under shared tools, shared state, and shared risk.
