Peter Diamandis argues that U.S. golf courses use about 30 times more water than all U.S. data centers combined.

He adds that even if AI workloads triple their water demand by 2030, credible projections would still put total AI water use below roughly 10% of golf irrigation. The point is to reframe AI water criticism in the context of much larger existing water consumers.
