Eterna Launches RNA Structure Design Challenge, Pitting GenAI Against Human Experts

The crowdsourced science game Eterna has launched OpenKnot Round 9, challenging participants to design compact, pseudoknotted RNA secondary structures using 240 bases.
This round will not only test the design skills of expert human players but also introduce Generative AI (GenAI) teams for comparison. The goal is to evaluate whether AI methods can match or exceed human expertise when tackling longer and more complex RNA sequences.
