LukeW argues that software has historically been built around a computer’s capabilities rather than a human’s. The WIMP paradigm—windows, icons, menus, pointers—gives people access to computer functions, but at the cost of cognitive load.
He suggests that large AI models change that equation by adding world knowledge, enabling more human-centric ways to get work done: instead of navigating UI primitives, users can simply state intent.
