Etched Raises $300M Series C Led by Sequoia at $10 Billion Valuation

Sequoia Capital announced it is leading a $300 million Series C funding round for AI inference hardware startup Etched, with a $10 billion pre-money valuation.
Etched is building specialized inference clusters to maximize intelligence per flop. The company recently taped out its first custom chip at TSMC and stood up its first cluster in just 40 days, achieving Pareto-dominant performance in throughput and interactivity.
Sequoia believes that as AI capabilities accelerate, inference is on the path to becoming the largest market in the world, with the intelligence race being fundamentally compute-constrained.
