LLMs could automate theory-checking in physics, and then economics too
IgorCarron · x · 2026-07-23
LLMs will change theoretical physics by making theory-checking much more automated, the post argues. The author says new theories must be consistent with prior facts, and that LLMs could eventually provide scaled-up automated verification for this kind of checking.
The post uses the Standard Model as an example of a theory that survives because it fits past experiments extraordinarily well, then extends the same logic to other fields. The conclusion is that once this kind of automated validation becomes routine in theoretical physics, it may also reshape economics.
