Author rejects free-book request, says AI companies are normalizing IP theft

The author argues that the internet’s ad-supported culture already normalized the idea that human-created content should be free, and that AI companies have extended that mindset into something worse: normalizing IP theft.

Using a screenshot of someone asking for a free copy of his book Promptism as context, he says writing a book takes years of reading, thinking, rewriting, and doubt, while authors earn relatively little per copy sold. His conclusion is simple: he will not share a free copy, because the book is commercially available through normal bookstores.
