Codex users report the weekly limit now drains as fast as the old 5-hour cap
A Codex VS Code user says that after the old 5-hour limit disappeared, the weekly allowance started falling at roughly the same speed as the former short-term cap.
They report that with a normal setup — GPT-5.5 High, no Sol, no unusual heavy usage — the weekly percentage drops much faster than expected during ordinary work sessions. The same weekly usage number is also visible in ChatGPT settings, so the user believes this is not just a UI bug in the extension.
The expected behavior, in the reporter’s view, is that removing the 5-hour limit should not effectively collapse the total weekly capacity into a faster-draining bucket.
