CarPlay shortcuts can trigger a full automation chain the moment you connect your phone to the car.
The thread suggests building two automations in iPhone Shortcuts:
- on CarPlay connect: turn on Driving Focus, set volume, open Maps to the first calendar destination, start a commute playlist, and text your spouse that you are on the way
- on CarPlay disconnect: turn off Driving Focus, send an arrival text, disable Bluetooth audio, and restore your normal focus mode
The point is to let the car switch you into and out of productivity mode automatically, without manual toggles.
