Amp agents can now spawn other agents and exchange files across machines
Amp (Sourcegraph) · rss · 2026-07-20
Amp now lets agents spawn other agents across orbs, local machines, or any other machine, and the agents can exchange messages and files.
The post frames this as a coordination primitive for real workflows:
- spin up a side-thread to fix an unrelated bug while you keep working;
- fan out four parallel threads to test the same flow at different screen sizes and compare screenshots;
- pull files from an abandoned prototype thread into the current workspace;
- offload documentation work to a separate project;
- have multiple agents collaborate by sending artifacts back and forth.
