LLMs may soon make secure financial systems impossible, author says
birchlse · x · 2026-07-23
The author argues that while an LLM-driven extinction scenario is still hard to picture, model development has largely followed the expected risk curve. In their view, the far more immediate threat is that secure financial systems may soon become unworkable once superhuman coding power is broadly available.
They specifically point to the downstream implications for cybersecurity and the infrastructure that depends on it: military systems, banking, email, and related software-heavy sectors.
