PyTorch Foundation says China is playing a bigger role in open-source AI

PyTorch Foundation Executive Director Mark Collier gave the opening keynote at the GOAI World Artificial Intelligence Open Source Competition in Hangzhou, highlighting China’s growing role in models, infrastructure, applications, and upstream core code.
He also framed Hangzhou as a globally recognized AI hub, citing Alibaba Cloud, Ant Group, Deepin, and the local open-source cloud community.
