Bad Theory Labs releases BTL-3, a 27B open-weight agentic coding and tool-use model designed to run locally in a single compact file.
- The model is built for the full agent loop: reason → act → inspect → recover → continue.
- A compact edition fits in 8.39 GB as a standalone GGUF, with no base model download or reconstruction.
- Reported results include 95.12% HumanEval pass@1, 88.5% BFCL v4 AST, 95.5% multiple tool calls, and 91.2% tool-call abstention.
- The team says the compressed model retains 92.2% of teacher-correct behavior while running at 43 tok/s on an RTX PRO 6000.
- Both the model weights and runtime/source are open today under Apache-2.0 and MIT.
