Gemini CLI v0.51.0 is missing Gemini Flash 3.6 from the model picker

In Gemini CLI v0.51.0, the manual model selector no longer shows Gemini Flash 3.6, according to issue #28483 in the google-gemini/gemini-cli repo.
The reporter says the model should be selectable and usable, and attached screenshots show the missing option in the CLI’s model picker.
