Hugging Face security incident pushes investigators to an open-weight model
A reposted thread says frontier commercial APIs refused to help with forensic log analysis because their safety guardrails blocked real attack commands, exploit payloads, and related artifacts.
As a result, Hugging Face reportedly turned to the open-weight model GLM 5.2 on its own infrastructure, which allowed the team to continue the investigation and illustrates the practical limits of closed-model safety filters in incident response.
