New York’s robotics ecosystem is being mapped startup by startup
The post argues that New York City is unusually strong for launching robotics companies because it combines:
- AI and robotics talent from universities such as Columbia and NYU
- Proximity to major AI companies, including OpenAI
- Dense customer access across finance, healthcare, logistics, retail, and media
- A deep funding ecosystem with VCs, hedge funds, and corporate investors
The author credits New York Robotics for helping build the ecosystem map and says version 2 now includes six new companies. The post also frames NYC as a place where founders can quickly find real-world pilots rather than building in isolation.
