Meta rolls out Content Seal, an invisible watermark for AI-generated images

Meta has introduced Content Seal, an invisible watermarking system for images generated by its new AI model, after its Oversight Board urged the company to use its own tools to curb deceptive AI content.
The Verge says the system looks like a weaker, less accessible version of Google's SynthID, and notes that Meta buried the feature in the announcement for its Muse image and video generation tools.
The piece also argues that Meta is still behind more established provenance standards such as C2PA Content Credentials.
