Claude Code Desktop 1.24012.1 breaks all local MCP tool calls on macOS
regalcare · ghdev · 2026-07-22
Claude Code Desktop 1.24012.1 on macOS appears to have a regression that breaks all local MCP tool calls.
- The reporter says every tool call now fails across conversations, even though MCP servers still initialize successfully and tools/list works.
- Logs show toolapprovalgate firing, but no tools/call ever reaches the servers.
- The app then hits a 404 notfounderror / sidechannelwaitingkeyabsent when posting toolresult.
- The issue happened right after the auto-updater installed this build, and the reporter says multiple reinstalls and fresh conversations did not help.
