Open-source video-editing Skill Pireel plugs into Codex with a one-line install
The author says they are reopening the source after making roughly ¥3 million from earlier open-source work, and is now releasing Pireel, a video-editing Skill rather than a traditional editor.
- Install: npx skills add pireel/pireel-agent
- Works inside Codex to auto-edit videos, mainly for talking-head content
- The product promises scene-based editing, theme matching, and quick publishing instead of teaching users a complex timeline workflow
- It currently ships with 20+ hyperframe themes and can hook into third-party design Skills for custom styling
- The screenshot also shows an export run that shortened a clip from 121.5s to 90.5s and cleaned up noise, duplicate frames, and stuttering motions
