Codex desktop regression removes the global Quick Chat entry on macOS
A macOS user reports that in Codex App 26.715.21425, the Chat / Quick Chat button has disappeared from the left sidebar.
The missing button used to open a standalone, projectless chat window that could float alongside any active project. That made it possible to ask ad hoc questions without creating a project-bound task or mixing the exchange into the project thread.
The reporter says the feature is still missing on the unified ChatGPT/Codex desktop app, and they could not find an equivalent menu or settings entry to replace it.
