Google launches Gemini 3.6 Flash with lower token use, higher coding scores, and new pricing
eyishazyer · x · 2026-07-22
- Google says Gemini 3.6 Flash replaces 3.5 Flash.
- The model reportedly uses 17% fewer output tokens on average, and up to 65% fewer on coding tasks such as DeepSWE, while scoring higher.
- Pricing is $1.50/1M input tokens and $7.50/1M output tokens.
- The positioning is clearly agent-oriented: Google says it is the upgrade if you are building coding agents.
- The attached charts claim gains across long-horizon software engineering, ML engineering, knowledge work, and computer use, while also showing lower output-token usage on DeepSWE and AI Index.
