Claude Code task planning plus subagents cuts token costs, user says

The author says the best setup is to use Fable 5 to plan tasks in Claude Code, then have it spin up Opus 4.8xhigh subagents to execute them.
They claim this significantly reduced token usage costs, and jokingly note that GPT Sol 5.6 subagents might be even better, but they haven’t bothered to switch.
