Subagents may be silently defaulting to Fable and burning through usage
aaddrick · reddit · 2026-07-22
A user says their usage suddenly spiked because Fable was being used by default inside subagents, even when they had asked for Sonnet. Their advice: inspect workflows and subagents as they run, because if the model is not explicitly encoded, the launcher’s default may silently take over.
They add that their usage looks normal when they avoid Fable entirely.
