Hugging Face reportedly used GLM 5.2 after US frontier models blocked incident analysis
iamaliveix · x · 2026-07-22
A circulating post says Hugging Face had to fall back to a Chinese model, GLM 5.2, when frontier US models refused to help with forensic analysis of the OpenAI-related incident.
The claim is that the hosted models' safety guardrails could not reliably distinguish the incident-response workflow from attacker behavior, so Hugging Face ran the analysis on its own infrastructure with GLM 5.2 instead. The post frames this as an example of guardrails getting in the way of defensive work.
