Ethan Mollick points out that as AI models tackle longer tasks requiring more judgment, small baseline differences accumulate into vastly different outcomes.
He observes that while the industry currently discusses frequently switching models for cost or sovereignty reasons, the most advanced models are growing increasingly divergent. Models like Fable and Kimi K3 react very differently, meaning they can no longer be simply swapped out in a plug-and-play manner.
