1Password and Anthropic let Claude log in without ever seeing your password
vinay-jain-18 · reddit · 2026-07-21
1Password and Anthropic have shipped a login flow for Claude that lets an AI complete account-based tasks without ever seeing the user’s password.
- When Claude hits a login screen, 1Password shows which account it wants and why.
- The user approves with fingerprint or face recognition.
- 1Password fills in the password and one-time code, while Claude never sees the vault contents.
- Access is scoped to a single task and ends when the task finishes.
- If login fails, the filled credentials are wiped.
The integration is available now for 1Password users on Mac across individual, family, and business plans, via the desktop app and browser extensions.
