Dev Showcase: Exposing Editor Actions as Tools Lets AI Design App Screenshots
Born_Excuse_5610 · reddit · 2026-07-22
A developer shared a side project building an ultimate App Store screenshot generator. Instead of using standard AI image generation—which often produces wrong text and uneditable pixels—they built a full screenshot editor first and exposed every action as an AI-callable tool.
This approach allows the AI to actually design on the canvas by composing tools, rather than just one-shotting an image, keeping everything editable. The author noted that the Sol model handled this complex tool-calling workflow surprisingly well.
