Octen says agent search now runs at 62ms P50 with only a 6ms P90 gap

Octen says the key metric in its launch is a 6ms gap between P50 and P90 search latency.
Because agents chain dozens of searches per task, the company argues that latency variance compounds across steps. To handle fan-out from a single question into 50 sub-queries, Octen rebuilt its index, ranking, and serving layer so search can stay inside an agent’s thinking loop. The system reportedly runs at 62ms P50.
The post also points to a public benchmark so others can test their own agent search stack against it.
