Claude Code VS Code extension blocks Fable 5 despite remaining Max-plan allowance

Claude Code’s VS Code extension is incorrectly blocking Fable 5 behind a “usage credits” banner even though the user is on a Max plan and still has weekly allowance left.
- The issue appears after the July 19 promo-to-plan transition for Fable 5.
- Both the extension’s Account & Usage panel and claude.ai show about 80% of the weekly allowance used, with reset scheduled for Jul 21 1:00 PM.
- The web app serves Fable 5 normally on the same account; only the VS Code extension blocks it.
- The reporter suspects stale entitlement data, since the extension briefly showed “Claude pro” before later updating to “Claude max.”
