Sakana AI launches Fugu-Cyber endpoint and claims SOTA on real-world security benchmarks
SakanaAILabs · x · 2026-07-21
Sakana AI Labs says Fugu-Cyber is now available as a new endpoint.
The company positions it as an update to its Fugu orchestration model and says it reaches state-of-the-art results on real-world cybersecurity benchmarks. Sakana also argues that frontier cyber capability is not enough on its own for enterprise defense: large organizations still need specialized talent and deep integration into proprietary codebases to operationalize these systems.
The post responds to industry fears that giving firms access to a cyber-capable frontier model would automatically solve security problems, saying the reality is more complicated.
