ChatGPT user reports cross-device context leakage in separate private sessions
manixfan · reddit · 2026-07-21
A Reddit user reports a creepy ChatGPT experience: they asked about mountaineering gear in a private Firefox window on a desktop, then later—on a different device and in a fresh private session—ChatGPT replied, “Since you mentioned climbing in Colorado…” even though that context had not been provided in that conversation.
The user says both sessions were private, on different devices, and not on the same home Wi‑Fi, and asks whether others have seen similar cross-session linking or whether it was a coincidence.
