Nativ brings frontier open models to local Macs
The project introduces Nativ, an open-source macOS app that runs frontier open models locally on Apple Silicon.
- No accounts, subscriptions, or cloud usage: every token is generated on-device.
- Built on mlx-vlm, with support for multimodal models and a focus on Apple Silicon speed.
- Exposes a local endpoint so coding agents can connect to it directly.
- Includes live telemetry for tokens/sec, memory, and usage.
- Licensed under MIT and promised to stay free forever.
