Polyphonic is building a universal memory layer for every agent, but its synthesis step is truncating 20,000-word reports
RileyRalmuto · x · 2026-07-21
Riley Ralmuto says the Polyphonic desktop app is working well overall as a kind of universal brain for every platform, session, project, repo, skill, and agent on the machine.
He also describes a bug in the synthesis layer: a research swarm produced reports of about 20,000 words per agent, but Luca collapsed them into tiny one-line definitions instead of preserving the substance. The underlying architecture works, he says, but the synthesis and presentation step still needs fixing.
