A ROS robot that can recognize its owner
chrismatthieu · x · 2026-07-20
A ROS-based robot named Bob was upgraded with two Intel RealSense cameras: a D435i stereo depth camera and an F500 facial-authentication camera.
The setup logs show the face detector triggering, the authenticator returning success, and the system recognizing the user as chris — with the author joking that the robot now knows who is boss.
