A CLI for tracking ChatGPT/Codex usage resets

bytebot · x · 2026-07-20

A developer estimates they are getting about $2,500 of inference per week from ChatGPT on the $200 plan.

They built a small Python CLI called codex-usage-boosts to track usage and available resets more granularly than the ChatGPT UI. The tool is currently preferred for planning work because it is more detailed and available from the command line, and they plan to open source it. The screenshot shows the UI for usage limits, reset windows, and remaining capacity.
