The quoted comment says this may be the first time an LLM has solved a problem outside the commenter’s own field that was nevertheless widely known enough for him to have heard of it.
The speaker calls it a counterexample to any claim that we are at the “end of mathematics,” but still finds it remarkable that the model reached a result on a problem with broad recognition.
