The author originally thought their lidar sensor was broken for two years, only to discover that many applications likely failed to implement it correctly.
Using gpt-5.6-sol alongside a custom harness, they built a working implementation in about 20 minutes and shared screenshots of the 3D point cloud and reconstruction results.
