Grok vs ChatGPT: Detecting X Platform Bots
JasonBotterill · x · 2026-07-20
A user tested the differences between Grok and ChatGPT in identifying fake "mother" bot accounts on the X platform.
Test Results:
- Grok: Capable of leveraging web search to successfully find current betting odds and real-time information for relevant events, thereby assisting in verifying authenticity.
- ChatGPT: Due to its default reliance on a 2025 knowledge cutoff and lack of enabled web search, it couldn't access current information and thus failed to make an effective judgment.
This test intuitively demonstrates the advantage of native real-time web connectivity in tackling platform spam.
