Regarding the deployment progress of Huawei accelerators on Alibaba Cloud, the author notes it is still limited. Meanwhile, Alibaba has a robust ASIC R&D department (T-Head) primarily producing so-called PPUs. Therefore, Alibaba Cloud's future underlying compute architecture will lean toward a hybrid heterogeneous model combining in-house PPUs and GPUs.
