Complaints About Microsoft Copilot Restrictions: Agents Lack Knowledge Base
evielync · x · 2026-07-20
While conducting AI training for school administrators, the author complained about several counterintuitive limitations in Microsoft Copilot:
- Knowledge base limits: Although you can create Agents similar to GPTs, you cannot directly upload knowledge documents as long-term memory (unless manually uploaded for every chat).
- Broken file saving: Documents generated by the Agent cannot be saved directly to the same account's OneDrive.
- Cumbersome login: The initial registration and login process is extremely complex, taking 20 minutes and mandating an authenticator app.
The author believes that restricting employees solely to Copilot will severely hinder organizational productivity.
