Coding Agents Boost Efficiency but Erode the Joy of Creation

The author misses the GPT-3.5 era experience of "coding while chatting": LLMs primarily helped eliminate trivial tasks like checking docs, reading error logs, and repeated debugging, allowing him to retain the joy of thinking and design. However, coding agents have elevated efficiency to a new level, almost entirely taking over the writing, execution, testing, and fixing processes. While output has increased, he feels pushed out of the creative core, losing the satisfaction of "turning ideas into reality with his own hands."
