AI Video Traffic Scam Using Fake Shopify Stores
venturetwins · x · 2026-07-20
A new online scam pattern has emerged: using massive amounts of AI-generated fake product videos (such as a product named "float bro") on Instagram to attract huge views, and linking to a real Shopify store on the account's profile.
These stores not only feature AI-generated images but also support a complete checkout process and even Shop Pay, bizarrely offering a $4.99 "accident insurance." This gray industry chain—leveraging AI to mass-produce viral traffic content and funneling it to real e-commerce checkouts—is highly alarming.
