Multiple AIs Over-Optimize the Plan
doodlestein · x · 2026-07-19
Working on project planning via phone while traveling, the author notes that substantial progress can still be made without a full dev environment.
Initially, Sol Pro and Kimi K3 Max were tasked with reviewing and refining Fable Max's initial draft. However, subsequent versions became obsessed with pixel-perfect replication of Python Manim outputs and even introduced LaTeX dependencies, derailing the project's original intent. The author emphasizes that even highly capable AIs can fall into a "paperclip maximizer" trap if goals are poorly defined, mutating the plan into an over-engineered monster that misses the mark.
