Someone is asking if people buy large-capacity hard drives to locally store the most crucial open-source models, just in case resources on Hugging Face become unavailable in the future.
The core of this post isn't about a specific model, but rather the distribution and long-term availability of open-source models: given that the community relies heavily on HF for hosting, should we start preparing "offline backups" for our model assets?
