TechNadu · x · 2026-07-18
Cybersecurity incidents were frequent this week, with AI playing a prominent role on both offensive and defensive fronts.
- Defense: Microsoft fixed 570 vulnerabilities during its largest-ever Patch Tuesday, partly credited to AI-assisted discovery mechanisms.
- Offense: Researchers discovered that AI is being utilized to construct IoT botnets.
Additionally, multiple other security incidents occurred this week, including the removal of the ModHeader extension, the emergence of new LabubaRAT malware and Spirals ransomware, the abuse of the Chrome Sync feature, medical tracking privacy breaches, and the dismantling of a 700-person fraud network.
